Biography of Will Turek
Will Turek,
born and raised in NE Ohio, has been professionally employed in the Fly
Fishing
industry
since 1995. He spent the last 9 years working for Fish First! fly shop
based in the Bay Area in Northern California. While at Fish First! he
gained considerable experience in fly fishing retail sales, designing
and instructing fly fishing classes and on-stream clinics, and guiding
walk/wade and drift boat trips on such notable CA rivers as the Yuba,
Feather, Lower and Upper Sacramento, and Pit. In 1999 he moved from the
Bay Area to Chico, CA to open and manage a second Fish First! Store and
develop Fish First!'s guide operation for Northern California. Will has
chased trout, steelhead, salmon, large and smallmouth bass, and striped
bass throughout CA, OR, ID, UT, CO, MT, OH, and MI.
Currently, Will is a flyfishing manufacturer sales rep working with
Jerry Darkes of Angling Consulting Services based out of NE Ohio. He
designs and instructs Scott Fly Rod on-stream and casting clinics for
the Great Lakes region. He is particularly passionate about
fishing for
steelhead and teaching the benefits of fishing and casting using Spey
techniques with single and two-handed rods. Will also appears in Jerry
Darkes' "The
Great Lakes Steelhead Chronicals" DVD which can be found at the
Patagonia website. Jerry Darkes and Will Turek also
recently appeared in "Steelhead on Lake Erie Tributaries" episode of Joe
Thomas' Reel in the Outdoors show aired on ESPN2.
Will
Turek is an expert caster with 8 years experience teaching all levels of
anglers the fundamentals of flycasting. He is an experienced single and
two-hand spey fishing and casting instructor. Will offers group &
