Manufacturers are submitting products to Fly & Float for field testing. We'll be testing these products in "real Life" situations on the stream, at the bench, and under extreme conditions to see if they hold true to their claims. The gear review will bring you the "real deal" on submitted products so we can all make educated decisions on the products and companies in which we buy from.
How it works; Fly & Float Fishing contacts different manufacturers (or manufacturers contact us) about certain products to see if they are interested in submitting their product to us for a real life field test review. If the company decides to send the product in, we pass it on to our experienced fly fishermen & centerpin field testers, fly tyers, & guides. They then rigorously test the products and each one reports back. The difference with our reviewing process is that the products will reach four field testers as we believe this process allows for a true, non-partial review. We will then report back here once the review is completed and give you The Real Deal on the products. Each product will be reviewed on seven of the most important categories. The maximum score for each category is a 10. The maximum possible score is a 60 with the ability to score bonus points. Bonus points are rewarded based on our experience & communications with the supplier.
