Mission Statement:

Sean and I share a belief that our life-purpose is and always will be greater than ourselves.  This thought process is woven into just about everything we do.  The success and spotlight that we've achieved through Fly & Float Fishing  has only permitted us to reach out to more individuals that share this similar conviction.

The ability, in many ways, to become conduits and assist others and to help those that need it most is truly a blessing for the both of us.  Sean and I (and our families) understand that the task is great and will never be truly complete, but as long as we're able to touch and enrich lives through "Clothe & Feed Cleveland's Homeless", "Laura's Home", "Toys for Children in Need".. we will continue on!  As long as you keep the donations coming, we will fill the demand with your supplies.

What we've discovered through the various charity efforts run through our website, is those that enjoy and respect the outdoors (specifically fisherpersons and their families) are some of the most generous people on earth.  With little prodding on our part, many of you have given and helped the both of us do the things that we need to do without question or recognition.

Sean's campaign, "Clothe Cleveland's Homeless", has repeatedly been a huge success.  Thousands of articles of clothing have been delivered on a bi-weekly basis to the overflow shelter downtown.  When called upon, you have delivered socks, shoes, coats, hats, underclothing, pants, shirts, dress clothes, etc for men, women, and children... in overwhelming abundance.  Many times the donations came in such quantity that multiple trips were needed to deliver everything.  We can't tell you how awesome being the delivery men on your behalf has made the both of us feel!

Our December, 2007 campaign to assist "Laura's Home", a safe haven for battered women and children of the Cleveland Area, was an huge success.  An entire Ford Explorer full of toys, clothing, and a sizeable cash donation was delivered and received by the home in time for Christmas.  A huge thanks to those that made it happen including Craig Lewis, John Spahr, George (Man-O-Steel), among others, for hosting the raffle, The Promise Land Auction on our forums, and facilitating the toy collections.

So, with that said, Sean and I look forward to what's next with a smile on our faces!  Our good friend Jim Britt (Floatman) suggested that an organization be formed as an "umbrella" of sorts for the many charitable drives and events that we're associated with.  What a great idea!.  The F.I.S.H Network will keep you up to date on what we're doing and what you can do to help.

Periodically, the F.I.S.H. Network of participants will be called upon to nominate and facilitate a provision of assistance.  The assistance will vary based on the chosen nominee's needs.  Our members will be contacted to assist with this provision in any way they feel comfortable.  If you feel it is time to become fulfilled through charitable endeavors, we want to hear from you.

If you are interested in becoming part of an organization with the sole purpose of helping others, please contact us to be added to our roster.

Thank you,

Domenic Federico & Sean Swatsky

Laura's Home Homeless Children Christmas Present Spahr Centerpin Raffle

December 2007

The month of December presented a special raffle for toys for Cleveland's Homeless children. Laura's Home is a woman & children homeless shelter in Cleveland, Ohio in which (at the time) homed 47 children this holiday season. With the kind donation of a Spahr Centerpin reel donated by Spahr & erieoutfitters.com, we were able to raise toy for these children.

Aslo, George Hendrickson (one of most loyal followers), hosted an auction for a day on the river. He was able to raise over 700.00 alone, all of which bought more presents for the kids. All said & done we raised over 1000.00 and bought over 160 toys for the kids. What a successful drive!!  Here are just a couple pictures.

Homeless Clothing Drive - Carp-A-Thon

August 2007

This summer flyandfloatfishing.com with the help of George Hendrickson (MOS) put on a benefit picnic to raise clothing and food for the local homeless. Bill Britt donated a custom built rod for a raffle as well as other raffles such as a wine basket, custom flies, Erie Outfitters gift certificates, gift cards, and more. It was a huge success and we raised over $400.00 on this drive. All of which was used to buy badly needed items for the homeless on the streets and in the shelter. We also put on a casting demonstration as well as a casting competition for prizes. Another huge success!

Homeless Clothing Drive - Covering Cleveland - 365 days a year!!!

Throughout the year we collect clothing for Cleveland's Men's Shelter which is the largest men's shelter in Ohio. We are sad to say the emergency overflow shelter will be closed early 2008 forcing placement of over 200 clients. There has been a great drive to put many of them into transitional housing through a program but there will be many forgotten about. The fear of a portion of these guys forced out into the cold is driving us to help even more!! We are not ere to discriminate against these gentlemen.... we don't care if there are addiction issues, legal issues, whatever... its about someone staying warm and not being hungry... that is where the system fails....
